How Vero Assess works

Easy to implement. Quick to deliver effective results. Vero Assess is a simple-to-use solution to the complex task of assessing multiple candidates for numerous roles.

Getting started

To begin, click Get Started and choose which of our four plans — Starter, Essential, Growth and Scale — is right for you.

This will depend on the number of candidates you need to assess, the number of roles you want to assess for and whether you're running a one-off recruitment campaign or require an annual licence.

On the same page you can view all the roles and select which ones you need.

What happens next?

Once you've made your selections, you'll be taken through a few short set-up steps depending on which plan you choose.

Step 1: Add your team

Add your team

We'll ask for some details including your name and email address. You can then add system admins, from one admin with our Starter plan to unlimited with Scale.

Step 2: Configure your campaign

Configure your campaign

Create a URL for your candidate portal, choose if you'd like automated feedback reports to be sent to applicants, add start and finish dates for your campaigns and double-check you're happy with the role or roles you've selected.

Step 3: Brand your candidate portal

Brand your candidate portal

Essential, Growth and Scale customers can add branding to the candidate portal so it's consistent with your organisation, including a logo and colours.

Step 4: Sign and pay

Sign and pay

You'll be taken to a contract to read and accept, before moving to the payment page where you can use our secure online checkout or request an invoice.

Step 5: Get your portal access

Get your portal access

Starter and Essential customers will receive an email within two working days of receiving payment, with a link to the assessment portal and information on how to access your account, upload candidate details and invite them to the assessments.

Step 6: Meet your CSM

Meet your CSM

Growth and Scale customers will be contacted by their designated Customer Success Manager within three working days of receiving payment, to configure your campaigns, walk you through the assessor and candidate portals and answer questions.

Step 7: Go live

Go live

Take the tests yourself to make sure you're happy with them, then start sending invites to candidates. Monitor candidate progress on your assessor dashboard and shortlist the best performers for interview once the finish date has passed.

A comprehensive candidate experience

Vero Assess is designed to give candidates a smooth and engaging candidate experience.

Each assessment is explained in clear, plain language and candidates are able to take practice questions so they are comfortable with what's to come. Applicants are regularly kept up to date with their progress — automatic reminders highlight upcoming deadlines and they'll receive a message each time they complete an assessment.

You can choose to send automated feedback to candidates following completion of all the tests, pointing out their strengths and areas to improve on. And whether they make it through to the next stage or fall short this time, they'll receive a friendly message letting them know.

The benefits

Identifying potential

Vero Assess is founded on academic research, developed to build a full picture of a candidate's ability to succeed in a role and in your organisation across four key areas: Align, Insight, Aptitude and Persona.

Role-specific metrics

During the online assessments each candidate is measured against the specific attributes required for each role, such as collaboration, trust, goal-orientation and consistency. There are 16 attributes, each one is weighted appropriately for each role.

Accessible to all

The candidate portal complies with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, is compatible with third-party accessibility tools and designed to give every user the chance to perform at their best.

Intelligent scoring

The assessor dashboard provides an at-a-glance percentage fit score and bands candidates into four categories (Strong, Consider, Caution, Reject), so you can easily create a verified shortlist. Individual profiles enable you to dive deeper into how they performed on each test.

Interview frameworks

You'll be provided with role-specific questions and scorecards to validate key behaviours during interviews. Each question pack includes what strong positive evidence looks like, common red flags and follow-up prompts.
